[A week ago Hinata thought she would be okay. She’d give her father and the council’s announcement some time to settle with her and she’d carry on, maybe work out some fabulous plan with Neji to convince the council to revaluate their decision. Except Neji was avoiding her and it looked like he was going to continue to do so for awhile yet, as such she pulls her scroll to her and scribbles out a quick note to Obito.

She has to tell people eventually, she may as well start with her sensei.]

Obito,

I uh, got engaged early last week. I would have said something sooner, but I needed to let it sink in first.

[Obito stared at the note. He held it up to the light to see if it was some kind of joke. But no, Hinata's handwriting was too steady, overly heavy for her, and that said it wasn't a joke, it had been deliberately put down. Possibly before she could change her mind. So. What the hell. This was not cool. He replied within about an hour, once he wrapped his head around the concept.]

Hinata,

Yeah I know that feeling here. What. The. Hell. I'm going to need more details. In person if you need- In person. Do you have the appetite for that tea shop or is this an apartment crisis?

[She has to think about that for a moment. Either option was good, but then there was a high possibility that she was going to end up crying and that wasn't something she wanted to do in public if she could help it.]
