[Closed] July 14, Missives to both Obito and Neji

[Two missives arrive from Suna, both in fairly official looking packaging complete with security seals that are entirely not of Temari’s doing because they actually work. The first missive is for the Hokage and the second is for Neji.]

Hokage-sama,

I am writing in the hopes that Suna may borrow one of your shinobi for a short time. We’re looking to build a few new wells within the village and in surrounding villages and while our abilities to detect water for such are well-practiced and proficient; I thought one of your shinobi might enable us to increase our proficiency. We would like to contract one Hyuuga Neji to help with the task; as his Byakugan would be an invaluable tool.

If you are amenable to Suna contracting his services, we anticipate needing Hyuuga-san for roughly a week. Two weeks would be the upper limit should there be delays.

I have asked the Hokage if it would be possible to contract you for assistance here in Suna. If he agrees expect to spend at least a week in he desert.

[The missive is a surprise, but the sender even moreso. It's rare a shinobi is specifically singled out for a task, but not unheard of. A week in the desert though.. Although the company might make up for it. He hasn't seen her since the exams- not that he's keeping track]

I don't see any particular reason he'd refuse.. Although, I am curious as to what sort of task might merit my particular expertise. In any case, I'll look forward to Sunagakure's hospitality.

Hyuuga Neji

We're hoping to start drilling new wells soon. We thought Hyuuga eyes might come in useful for locating new aquifers for us to tap. We're happy to do so.

I see, that would certainly put the Byakugan to good use. Hokage-sama may elect to send another Hyuuga if he has other plans for me, but with fortune, he'll see the merit of sending a familiar face to Sunagakure's own ambassador instead.

Are you looking forward to the possibility of coming to Suna?

[It says something that she didn't even bother with any forms of address, feels like a hastily written scrawl that could mean she was pressed for time or particularly curious, and he's not sure what to think about the latter possibility]

I suppose I can't deny that.

Not really no. I'll be sure to find sometime for you enjoy the sand.

Not a problem. You might get lucky an experience a sandstorm while here.

That may be asking for too much, but barring such fortune, I imagine you could recreate such an experience should I happen to miss it.

[Interesting that she should request Neji specifically, but he knew he'd been running the boy ragged and this could count as something of a vacation. Sort of... Still, he had to go throught he motions.]

I am amenable to giving Hyuuga Neji this mission if no one else will do, though might I inquire if there was a specific reason for Neji-san, or if any Hyuuga would be acceptable?

I suppose any Hyuuga would be acceptable, but I'm not familiar with other Hyuuga. It is however at your discretion if you'd like to send another Hyuuga in Neji-san's place.
