[Sealed to Kushina]

Auntie!

Can you write your successor and tell them to give me something other than a D-Rank mission? I’m a chunin now, I can do something more than schlep rolls of bandages and bags of sand. I should be working with Uzu's other chunin too. I should be taking patrol rotations or low-level escort missions. And I'm not. Make them give me something useful to do.

Help.

That's why I'm not petitioning on your behalf. It looks like favoritism, or even interference, now that I'm not in charge anymore. Just keep trying to get an appointment like anyone else would, and if the mission desk thinks I showed you or your team preferential treatment for mission assignments, remind them that I only gave you D-ranks too or tell them why you really want a higher ranked mission. You'll have to do that if and when you meet with the village leader, so you better have a better reason than "I'm a new chuunin and I deserve a C- or B-rank mission because of my promotion." Whining or acting entitled doesn't get you far and in the time I've known my successor, they have a low tolerance for both. So I hope I don't have to remind you to watch the tone you take with them.

And you're right. There are a few higher ranked missions that tend to come in, but they're more likely to go to those either at higher ranks or who have been chuunin longer. You've barely been promoted for a few weeks. Be patient.

I did, and they send their love in return.

ghostpepper: not showing you my face yet, for one (you want to know what I'm doing?)

It's worth a try, and it might be worth reminding them not all the missions I gave your team were more interesting or anything. You got assignments based on what was there and what I thought was appropriate for your team. And that's something you should bring up when you petition your case. But stay calm when you do and keep your emotions in check. I wish you luck when you get your meeting.

Also, it's not good to compare yourself to the kids your age in Konoha. Konoha and Uzushio may be allies, but Uzushio is still developing. I'm sure you remember that I sent you to the first chuunin exams that I could. Rules are rules and I had to send you with a team, preferably with those closer to your age.

You definitely should come visit, the next chance you get. You know you're always welcome home with us and your room is untouched. Besides getting dusted sometimes.
