[She had been back in Uzushio for barely two days when it hit her that she had left one very important piece of business left unfinished back in Konoha. She quickly digs into her desk drawer and pulls out a scroll and starts scrawling out the seal characters first, then a message. A few lines get blotted out heavily since this is supposed to be more of a semi-formal leader-to-leader correspondence than a casual message. And the opening greeting should be a quick flag that she tried to at least make it presentable.]

To the Hokage, Uchiha Obito,

I know I just saw you a few days ago, but I forgot to submit a mission before I left Konoha. I'm officially requesting a B-Rank mission for your team in advance. Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, Hyuuga Hinata, and you. The purpose will be for the Hokage and his Chuunin team to come see the development of Uzushiogakure's rebuilding project as Uzushiogakure and Konohagakure were-- and still are-- allies.

Minato will come along too on temporary leave because you're not giving him any missions at the start of next month. Please don't assign Namikaze Minato any missions that will coincide with the start of next month as I have an excellent reason to believe he would like to come along too. As a sign of good faith and to act as your guide, I will be arriving on April 3rd to escort you and your team between the villages. Please reply as soon as possible.

[After a few read-throughs, she's satisfied and seals the message to Obito. The ink swirls together under her hand as she dumps chakra into it, forming the ever-familiar Uzumaki spiral. The symbol for 'fire' appears in equal size right next to it. On unsealing, it'll go back into place to reveal her message.]

[It wasn't often that he had properly official correspondence from Kushina, and he treated it with the gravity it deserved. That didn't mean that his lips didn't twitch into a smile at the way she came at the thing though. Instead, he replied in similar fashion.]

To Uzumaki Kushina, leader of Uzushio,

While typically one doesn't request the Hokage to come simply for a visit, I'll accept the mission in the spirit it was meant and would be more than happy to bring my team to see the progress that has been made in your village in the last year. I have no doubt that we'll all be very impressed, and we'll be more than happy to lend a hand while we're there.

[And then in much smaller writing below, sealed all to hell so no one but Kushina could even think to get at it.]

P.S. Seriously though, if someone had intercepted that it would have looked super bad for Konoha. So please don't be mad Kushina-nee!

[As soon as she got the reply, she had it unsealed in no time, P.S. and all. Something deep within her twitches for a second, but soon gives way to a smile while she replies.]

To the Godaime Hokage, Uchiha Obito,

I look forward to you and your team visiting with great anticipation. We will have lodging ready on your arrival.

[Her own title has a slightly different tint in the ink. A sign that it was applied much later than her own name. The joys of still adjusting to it when communicating with someone who was like family to her. And under a seal set to unlock to no one but Obito's chakra signature...]

P.S. Obito, do you really think so poorly of my sealing skills? I swear on my life that I wouldn't let something like this get intercepted. And you promise not to assign Minato anything that'll keep him from coming along too, right?

[He was somewhat relieved she didn't seem angry for the appearances chide. He just... he couldn't take the risk. More seal masters were starting to spring up now that Uzushio had been restored after all, even if they weren't as good that didn't mean they might not be able to learn. His entirely reply was super well sealed. Personalized.]

You don't need to worry okay? I won't be able to stay the whole time myself though, you know the chunin exams will be here in a couple months and there's some things I have to have well in hand before they really get underway.

I can't help it, I had to check. And I totally understand, if any of your team wants to leave early with you too, it's fine. But let them know they're welcome to stay for a week, okay? Take care of yourself and I'll see you in a few weeks.
