Perhaps. But it is significantly less an affinity than elemental affinities. There are villages where every single female ninja has knowledge of basic medical jutsu - why should we not expand it to the whole village?

Now who is expecting too little of our students? I'm certainly not expecting the impossible; if civilians can become medics, then our ninja should know the basics as well. And perhaps...well, perhaps I will be less needed in the wards if more know those basics. I have noticed that most of those who have been in the Sound for any length of time are eager to learn healing...I don't think I'm the only one who is aware of how much more necessary it is in our village than others.
