That common sense might be your best quality, Peter. It certainly has placed you far above the others in your cohort.

As for the students...I am cautiously optimistic. Surely there are some spies among the group, but none seem to be faking lower skills, which is a good sign. And breaking with some of the traditional teaching methods seems to be serving us well; they all are learning healing along with their other basics, so in the end they should have far better control of their chakra than others of a similar age. Hopefully that will result in quicker mastery of the more difficult jutsus...but only time will tell.

Of course, it is my policy to trust noone and prepare for the worst. Thus I have been pleasantly surprised with their work so far. Then again, I've been working with the teachers to design our curriculum, so perhaps I am biased in their favor.
