Letter to Alphinaud [CLOSED | Backdated to March 3rd]
[ It's a curious little envelope that will eventually find itself pressed into the hand of a certain heel-wearing visionary no later than the third of March, the person that delivered it melting into the shadows. Whether or not they remain is a good question. They might linger if interest in issuing a response is given, but only if.
It's all written in very neat, if somehow rather...girlish handwriting: ]
Dear Alphinaud-san,
Hello there! I hope you are doing well (ノ^∇^) You are the grandson of Louisoix Leveilleur, am I correct? It is quite heartening to see his grandson continue his work! I know that you are probably quite busy with your aid work and such, so I will keep this letter short.
I cannot tell you who I am, but rest assured that I mean no harm and I would prefer to have you safe and sound. I am sure you know the nobility do not like you! In fact, they've probably made it very clear by now they would rather not have you around. I don't doubt you've already taken precautions, but as a gesture of goodwill, you should know there is another attempt coming for you soon. As the moon approaches being half-empty, be on your guard. You do not have to, but if you'd like you can send me back a reply through the messenger who delivered this to you. Please be careful, and take care.
Regards,
A friend

It's not often that someone approaches him with obvious admiration and kindness. Alphinaud hasn't yet let go any of his delusions of grandeur but he does acknowledge that in spite of his efforts, attempting to save a country not his own is a thankless job. It amazes him that his grandfather Louioux Leveilleur would dedicate his entire life in pursuing such a task, and ultimately die because of it. While his twin sister Alisaie had opted to set her attention elsewhere, Alphinaud remains here fixated in the dream of their grandfather while dreaming of the day when the citizens would no longer need foreign aid. ]
How most curious. [ The boy mumbles to himself as he gently presses his bare thumb against the girlish letters. He eyes the page in silence for what seemed to be half an eternity before allowing his blue gaze to rest upon the specter that lingers before his desk. Is it a shadow or a ghoul? Alphinaud could barely tell but it's most certainly awaiting his response.
Should he humor this letter and actually write back? Perhaps. If the nobles are truly interested in slamming a knife into his back, then he better find out a little more about that while he can. This isn't the first time the nobility wants him dead.
Those callous vultures are always out for blood. ]
A message I shall send to your...generous master.
[ Alphinaud states while reaching for the ink and quill.
Unlike in the letter he received, it's quite apparent that the child visionary is quite well learned for someone who looks barely shy of fifteen. The letter that is sent back possesses the makings of young prodigy who's quite accustom to handling the finer end of conversation. Though this letter might be read with a slight lofty air about since Alphinaud is quite a prideful little fellow.
No harm is meant, of course. ]

To My Esteemed-Unnamed Colleague,
'Tis not often that a warning comeths in the dead of night. As ominous as this letter might be, I'm quite humored by the thought of such warning.
The Nobility has made their presence quite known to me through thinly veiled words of anguish and obvious threats. This will not be the first nor the last time that they would be hard-pressed to push a dagger to my throat. I've come to expect more foolhardy acts as the approach of an unsung Spring heralds their boldness. Though, I'm forever grateful to know there's someone who's interested in keeping me alive and well.
I shall heed your warning, dear colleague. My latest stint within the former capital has certainly left me with more enemies than allies here in Ice. However I'm more than content to let the Nobles stew in their rage while continuing what my grandfather has begun.
Be well.
Sincerely,
Alphinaud Leveilleur
